CALL FOR PAPERS FOR THE CARIBBEAN JOURNAL OF HOME ECONOMICS  The Caribbean Association of Home Economists (CAHE) invites submission of abstracts for its 23rd Biennial Conference to be held in St. John’s Antigua on April 12- 17 2019, under the theme “Home Economists: Investing in Risk Management for Resilience”. Deadline for submission of conference abstract is November 30, 2018 Notification of acceptance will be emailed to the first author by December 16, 2018. Abstracts should be submitted in Microsoft Word as an e-mail attachment “Home Economists: Investing in Risk Management for Resilience” This theme evokes poignant discussions on the role of the home economist and persons in the society amidst climate change more specifically, natural disasters. Climate change affects all aspects of our life viz. Environmental, technological, sociological, psychological, financial, and educational. It is therefore imperative for society to invest in risk management as a mitigating factor against these occurrences. The requisite resources must also be applied for capacity building towards the resilience of all citizens. Submissions should add to the body of knowledge in home economics, should be well defined, and aimed at the development of best practices. “Globally, family structures, values and norms are prey to a changing society”. How can the home economist impact this change? What are some strategies that can be employed? What should be the work of the home economist? How does STEM methodology impact home economics education?
