How Do I Join?

Any individual seeking membership in the Association shall complete the prescribed Membership Application Form either in hard copy or electronically via the Association’s official website or Google Form and submit it to the Chairperson of the Membership Committee.

All applications must be accompanied by the required supporting documentation and the applicable membership fee. Payment instructions will be provided upon submission or via follow-up communication.

Upon receipt, applications will be reviewed by the Membership Committee to determine eligibility in accordance with the established membership criteria. The Committee may request additional information where necessary.

Recommendations from the Membership Committee shall be submitted to the Executive for consideration and approval. Applicants will be formally notified of the outcome of their application.

Membership shall become effective upon approval and confirmation of payment.

Membership Fees
  • Membership year runs from the 1st December to the 30th November
  • Fees are due on the 1st December of each year as membership for the following year.

 Active Membership

Active Membership is intended for individuals who are professionally qualified and engaged in the field of Home Economics or its specialized areas.

Active Membership shall be granted to an individual who meets at least one of the following:

  • Holds a degree in Home Economics or any of its specialized areas from an accredited college or university; or
  • Holds a diploma in Home Economics or any of its specialized areas from an accredited college, university, or technical institute after at least two (2) years of successful study; or
  • Holds a Teachers’ Certificate or Diploma from a recognized Teachers’ College with additional training in Home Economics equivalent to one (1) academic year of successful study.

Annual Fee: USD $25.00

 

Associate Membership

Associate Membership is intended for individuals connected to the field through related qualifications, training, or experience.

Applicants must meet at least one of the following:

  • Hold professional qualifications in an allied field that includes aspects of Home Economics; or
  • Have completed Home Economics-related courses at a post-secondary institution for at least two (2) years; or
  • Have a minimum of ten (10) years’ work experience in a Home Economics-related occupation.

Annual Fee: USD $25.00

 

Student Membership

Student Membership is designed for individuals currently pursuing studies in Home Economics or related areas.

Student Membership shall be granted to an individual who is:

  • Enrolled as a full-time student in a programme of Home Economics or any of its specialized areas at a recognized college, technical institute, or university.

Annual Fee: USD $10.00

 

Retired Membership

Retired Membership recognizes long-serving members who have retired from professional practice. Members must submit an application to the Executive Committee for approval.
Retired Membership shall be granted to an Active or Associate Member who has:

  • retired from the practice of Home Economics due to age or health; and
  • maintained continuous financial membership for a minimum of fifteen (15) consecutive years at the time of application for change of membership status.

Acceptance of any Membership Amnesty shall not be counted toward the required fifteen (15) years of continuous membership payments.

Annual Fee: USD $12.50

 

Lifetime Membership

To reward sustained commitment and long-term engagement. Members must submit a formal application to the Executive Committee for approval

Eligibility

  • Minimum of fifteen (15) years of continuous payment of membership dues at the time of application.

Fee Structure

  • One-time payment: USD $250.00
  • No payment plan permitted.

Benefits

  • Exemption from all future annual membership fees.
  • Recognition as a Lifetime Member of CAHE.

Conditions

  • Acceptance of any Membership Amnesty shall not be counted toward the required fifteen (15) years of continuous membership payments.
  • Payment is non-refundable and non-transferable.

 

Senior Membership (75 Years and Older)

To recognize the long-standing contribution and commitment of senior members. Members must submit a formal application to the Executive Committee for approval

Eligibility

  • Members who have paid a minimum of fifteen (15) consecutive years of membership dues and have attained the age of seventy-five (75) years.

Benefits

  • Full exemption from annual membership fees;
  • Continued access to all rights and privileges of membership.

Conditions

Acceptance of any Membership Amnesty shall not be counted toward the required fifteen (15) years of continuous membership payments.

Honorary Membership

Description

Honorary Membership is awarded to individuals in recognition of exceptional service.

Eligibility

Honorary Membership may be granted to:

  • An individual other than a Home Economist whom the Association wishes to honour for exceptional service to:
    • The Association; and/or
    • The field of Home Economics.

Conditions

  • Granted at the discretion of the Association.
  • No membership fee applies.
